Welcome to the State Sustainability Index Website. Over several semesters, separate groups of Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs graduate students will work with the Hoosier Environmental Council to produce a holistic state level sustainability index. This website will be the home for our findings, work, reports, and data sets. The SustainIN – Fall 2014 Sustainability Index Capstone Class set the overall frame of the analysis and focused solely on the agricultural impacts on water quality portion of the index.

The SustainIN - Spring 2015 Sustainability Index Capstone Class continued the work of the previous capstone by adding to the agricultural portion of the report. Additionally, they expanded the scope of the report to the economics and social equity, as well as beginning the energy section with an analysis of coal.

The SustainIN - Fall 2016 Sustainability Index Capstone Class continued the work of the previous capstone by expanding the scope of the report by contributing sections on environmental metrics with analysis of industry and residential sections.
